During the past 20 years there has been exponential growth in the number, scope and complexity of catheter-based interventions for structural heart disease. Though generally safe, these complex procedures carry a risk of device misplacement, embolization, or improperly functioning implants, even by experienced operators. These complications necessitate device removal which can be tedious, time consuming and difficult using standard catheter-based snare techniques and in some situations require remedial surgical procedures.

The ŌNŌ transcatheter retrieval system represents a major advance that would spare patients the pain of remedial surgical procedures and provide a “safety net” that promotes the use of these less invasive procedures and expands the number of patients who safely benefit from them. ŌNŌCOR has developed such a retrieval system.
